Getting Started
Individual On-boarding
I suggest 4 sessions to help us determine if this is a good fit. At the fourth session we evaluate and share feedback to orient us to either a different service or to deepen our work together.
How do we start couples therapy with you?
Follow the link to set up a free 30-minute virtual consultation.

Couples On-boarding
We start with 4 sessions to see if it’s a good fit. First, we meet all together, then each of you in the couple has an individual session with me, after which we come together for a second couples session, the fourth session in the series.
By this point we will have discovered some of the pivotal components of your dynamic. I will share with you if I think this method is a good fit for the project, and can refer you to better resources if need be.
What are your fees?
I have a sliding scale and I don’t ask to see proof of financial need- you select what you can pay, knowing that if you can pay at the higher end of the scale you are making therapy available for those can’t pay as much; you increase the availability of therapy in the community.
Individuals: my scale starts at $150 and goes to $185, for 60 minutes.
Couples: my scale starts at $180 and goes to $250 for 60 minutes.
Why do you have a sliding scale?
I offer a sliding scale so that I can see a wider range of clients. Those who can pay a bit more are subsidizing those who can’t. This is my only way I have to increase access-to-care, which for me is a moral issue.
Do you accept Insurance, provide Superbills, or use out-of-network benefits?
I accept out of pocket compensation instead of taking insurance. My practice works with out-of-pocket-reimbursement to provide care in the best possible way. Sadly, insurance companies have interfered with my client’s care, and I won’t risk it again.
Will you give me a superbill so I can get reimbursed?
If you are an individual client with out-of-network benefits, yes.
If you are a part of a couple, no. Insurance companies see the challenged couple-dynamic as the result of a mental illness in one member of the couple. For me this is a non-starter. I’m working with you to heal a dynamic between you. I’m not interested in saying I’m treating something I’m not. That’s insurance fraud.
What forms of payment do you accept?
ln-person clients: You pay me at the visit with a check or in cash. There is a bank next door for your convenience. Please arrive with your form of payment.
Virtual clients: You use a credit card or an HSA/FSA card on my payment portal.
Where are you located?
I have a brick-and-mortar office space in downtown Beverly. I’m at 234 Cabot St., in Suite # 10
What days do you see clients, and at what times?
I see clients Monday-Thursday starting at 11:30 am (first appointment) and take my last client generally at 3:30 pm.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Yes. Many of my clients prefer in-person sessions, but I have some clients I’ve never met in person. Virtual sessions are equally effective.
Do you do online therapy?
Yes. Here is my permanent Zoom link., below. I use it for both my free consultations and for my clients’ ongoing sessions. Please keep it safe and accessible if you think you’ll need it in future:
